Mornings are hard, but these tips are here to make it easier for you. Even if you’re not a morning person, these pointers can help you save time in the morning and overall help you have a better day.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep is very important and if you’re lacking sleep your morning will not only be slow, but you may forget important things you needed to do. You should aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night. Snooze is your enemy. It’s so easy to continue to press snooze in order to get a few extra zzz’s. Pushing snooze won’t help make your mornings any easier. You may just end up wasting time while fighting the alarm clock.
Pack Your Bag Before Bed
This is a super important tip because then you’re not rushing and fussing around in the morning wasting time trying to find things you need for your day. You can either completely pack your bag or lay everything you need out in a pile for the morning to make packing your bag easier and faster. I’ve forgotten notebooks and pencils all because they were spread out in my room. Having everything in one places helps you be confident you’re prepared for the day.
Check the Weather and Plan Your Outfit
Laying out your outfit can save lots of time in the morning. Planning your outfit without checking the weather can be a bad mistake if your weather changes as rapidly as mine, so it’s crucial to check the upcoming weather so you can dress appropriately. This includes shoes and socks also. I don’t mate my socks, so I sometimes have trouble finding even some that are close, so picking everything out before bed saves me a lot of time in the morning. If you’re indecisive like me, I give myself options to choose from in the morning, but only two at the most. That way I don’t spend all my time trying to decide what to wear.
Braid Your Hair
I did this so much throughout high school. It saved me oodles of time in the morning, kept my hair from tangling and it looked great. Personally, I like to french braid my hair into two pigtails. This helps keep my layers together and give me waves towards the top of my scalp also. If you have short hair, it may not be a possibility to braid your hair, but there may be other no heat options available for you to sleep in.
Make Time for Food
This tip may not apply to everyone, so people simply cannot eat as soon as they wake up. If you’re one of these people, you should drink water and try to pack some snacks for you to enjoy throughout the day. I’m one of the people who need to eat breakfast. It not only is healthy to do, but it helps energize me by providing my body the necessary calories to start my day. While I’m eating, I get time to relax and possibly watch some Netflix or catch up on some studying if need be.
These are tips that I try to use every day in order to stay on top of things. By taking steps to make my morning easier, I feel more organized and relaxed. I hope these tips will help you too.
